eGaming giant PokerStars is looking to hire 100 extra staff as the global business continues to grow on the Isle of Man. The business already employs nearly 400 people in the island. Now new office floor space has been opened on the ground floor of Quay West, Bridge Road, Douglas, to accommodate more than 20 staff with opportunities for twice that number. Chief Minister Howard Quayle attended the official opening of the office.

Amaya vice president of corporate communications, Eric Hollreiser, confirmed at the opening of the new office on Tuesday night that the business intends to hire another 100 people in the island.
He said ’It’s all about growth. We are continuing to grow. We are now nearly at 400 people on the island and there is something on the order of a 100 open headcount that we are hoping to hire here in the island.’
Mr Hollreiser also stated that there was a need to find a new extra office since the headquarters at Douglas Bay Complex, Onchan, was ’bursting at the seams.’
The American, who lives on the island with his family, said: ’We have 20 or so people here now in the new office and there is room to double that.”
