Battlestar Galactica from Microgaming: Slot Review - time to get your space-suit on

I actually enjoyed the Battlestar Galactica TV show when it aired a few years ago and I was very intrigued as to how this show would translate as a slot game.

It is safe to say, it is an excellent adaptation and there is lots of fun to be had here.

The game is a 5 reel slot with up to 243 ways to win and has a host of cool features that will have you shooting those menacing Cylons for a long time to come!

Special Features

The first feature worth mentioning is the Run mode. This is a random event and it allows you to create winning combinations from left to right or from right to left which greatly enhances your chances of a big win.

While in Run mode, the game can then switch to Flight mode. In this feature, any symbol can become a Wild symbol and these Wild symbols can split into two to give you more opportunities to snag an even bigger win.

These modes are an excellent distraction while playing the normal game but even in the normal game there is also the Ion Storm feature. This feature can actually turn all five reels Wild. Not a bad reward for braving an Ion Storm if you ask me!

Another feature that I came across while playing was the Viper Scatter symbol. If you match 3 or more Viper Scatter symbols then you will be awarded with 15 free spins plus tripled payouts. So make sure to keep an eye on this symbol when spinning those reels!

One last feature I saw was quite innovative and it is the Ranking feature. Every time you spin the reels, your experience will grow and progress towards your next rank. As your rank increases, you will unlock more video content. This is pretty cool as being a fan of the show, I wanted to see as much of the Battlestar Galactica videos as possible so I progressed pretty quickly from a major to a colonel.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

This game is an excellent tie-in to the popular sci-fi show and I really liked the look and feel of this game. The graphics are slick and futuristic with lots of bright neon colours and the animations of the characters on the reels are smooth and wonderful to look at.

The music as you would expect is fast with boisterous drums and gets quite intense at times. It really does make you feel like you are in a Viper cockpit shooting down some Cylons in the far reaches of space.

I enjoyed how you could unlock more bonus content the more you played. This offered great replay value for me as I wanted to unlock as much as possible while playing.

The game has a staggering 243 ways to win, an excellent RTP of 96.67%, and the maximum win is over 7,500 times your original bet!
